A living and open commons of Canadian design. A not-for-profit, co-operative and collective effort to document, preserve, and question material culture.

—For twenty years, the Canadian Design Resource has been compiling the most extensive public archive of its kind. Following a lengthy No Media-led process of community consulation and ideation, in collaboration with Studio Otherness and the resource’s founder, CDR is reborn as Nor—a decentralized co-operative, not-for-profit, dedicated to documenting, preserving, and interrogating the role of design in the many competing ideas of Canadian culture and heritage.

Coming soon, a new editorial platform, and Nor’s archive of over 13,000 entries, powered by an open API belonging to the communities it serves.
